Being an avid gamer, I often found myself at a friend's house, enjoying some gaming action.  But there were certain annoying things about the experience, and it wasn't bad attitudes, cold pizza, or stinky feet.  It was that I often found myself playing on 1/2 or 1/4 of the screen and using someone else's profile on someone else's console.  I'm all for sharing, but not having the full, single-console, single-television experience can really reduce the fun (literally).  Many times the difficulties of setting up and transporting the right number of consoles and televisions was the obstacle to everyone having the full experience.  It often took us over an hour just to get everything setup before we could really begin playing.

It was these experiences that inspired the invention of the Ackibox (Acrobatic Box).  I began working on the first prototype in 2005.  I built it out of 3/4" oak plywood, and it was a heavy monster.  However, it was exciting to see the idea come to reality and it proved the concept was appealing to those who saw it in action.  I began to see how useful this could be to any console gamer needing a certain degree of portability.  My close friends teased me about how heavy it was, so in 2006 I built my second prototype, cutting the weight in half.  This prototype showed that the Ackibox could be a practical addition to a gamer's lifestyle.

With the improved prototype, I have been enjoying the benefits of the Ackibox for several months now.  It allows me to quickly pack up and go to a LAN party or to a friend's house.  I am able to easily store it in a closet whenever I need to keep it safe and hidden.  Plus it provides me with a new gaming setup, freeing up my computer monitor, so I can play games while still having the full use of my computer.  Later this year, I'll be taking the Ackibox on its first family vacation.  It will allow us to watch DVDs and play some games in the hotel room.  A buddy of mine said he would love to have one when traveling for work.

I am looking for a company willing to produce and bring the Ackibox to market because I am eager to get this into the hands of gamers everywhere.
